---------+---------+---------+---------+---------+---------+---------+ Field of Mugi is a free Internet membership website for present, future and past working mothers and other women willing to support working mothers. We are sharing information on not only working and mothering, which are working mothers' common interests, but also on such themes as living and working abroad, pursuit of business career, hobbies, housework, family affairs, personal computers, etc. At the same time, we are trying to create a place where each member can achieve what she wants to do, such as making Wisdom of Working Mothers (Useful Tips for Working Mothers) and planning attractive new sections (Masterpiece of the Month, Let's Poll!, etc.), and so on. The moment you become a member, you can participate in fun community activities among members in forum, chat and off-line meetings. Daily average of the members making access to the forum is about 300 to 500 for both Field of Mugi and its Japanese version.[Contents] [Search] [Articles]

---------+---------+---------+---------+---------+---------+---------+ Field of Mugi was first inspired by PATIO, run by active members in @nifty's "working mothers' forum". Members steadily grew in numbers since the site started in fall 1997 as membership forum, security-enforced by password protection. In spring 1998, a group of SYSOPs started to manage the site. Members began to increase just by word of mouth and search engines, and the site has recently been introduced and quoted in mass media. We have started various projects to contribute to the society the wisdom we have accumulated. The present purpose of Field of Mugi is not only to provide a communication space for chatting and gossiping. We would also provide a space for self-realization for present and future working mothers. For the details, please refer to the History of Field of Mugi, written by Mugi.[Contents] [Search] [Articles]

---------+---------+---------+---------+---------+---------+---------+ You can join Field of Mugi for free. There is no membership fee. The members have absolutely no obligation but to follow the rule of common sense. The operational budget for Field of Mugi comes from expenses left over from off-line meetings and donations (up to 1,000 yen per person annually) from well-meaning members, and we use the most cost efficient ISP.
